2008 Legislative Priorities
H. 337 - Guaranteed Paid Sick Days
We are working to get legislation passed that would require an employer to provide no fewer then 7 paid sick days per 30 + hour work week. Employees with fewer then 30 hours of work per week would have sick days pro-rated. Additionally, it states that these sick days may be used for employees own health or the caring of a sick, or injured relative.

H. 304 - Vermont Hospital Security Plan
We are supporting legislation that would guarantee all Vermonters universal hospital coverage.
Elimination of the Tipped-Minimum Wage - No Legislation Proposed
We are pushing for the elimination of the tipped-minimum wage, which seven other states that that have already done, and build off of 2007 success. We would like current tipped employees to receive the same minimum wage as all Vermont workers.
