The Vermont House of Representatives has introduced a Paid Sick Days bill: H.382.  We are targeting the House with our media campaign.  With enough support hopefully they will get the message that their constituents want this bill passed.  To see the bill in its current form, go to: http://www.leg.state.vt.us/DOCS/2010/BILLS/INTRO/H-382.PDF

 

To get started check out our basic information sheet here.  Then pick the nearest newspaper to you from our list below.  You can write to one newspaper, or multiple.  We just need to get the word out. 

 

Newspapers:

• The Burlington Free Press:  To write a letter e-mail it to letters@bfp.burlingtonfreepress.com.

• The St. Albans Messenger:  To write a letter e-mail it to emerson@samessenger.com. 

• The Valley News, White River Jct. :  To write a letter e-mail it to forum@vnews.com  or mail it to The Forum Valley News P.O. Box 877 White River Junction, VT 05001

• The Rutland Herald:  To write a letter go to http://www.rutlandherald.com/section/SERVICES07 and fill out the appropriate fields.

• The Brattleboro Reformer: To write a letter e-mail  news@reformer.com (preferred method) or mail to Letter Box, Brattleboro Reformer, 62 Black Mountain Rd., Brattleboro, VT 05301.

• The Montpelier/Barre Times Argus:  To write a letter visit: http://www.timesargus.com/section/OPINION03

• The Bennington Banner: To write a letter e-mail  news@benningtonbanner.com or mail to 425 Main Street Bennington, VT 05201

• The Caledonian Record, St. Johnsbury:  To write a letter send it to: Letter to the Editor, Caledonian Record, 190 Federal St, PO Box 8, St. Johnsbury, VT 05819

Each of these papers allow up to 300 words so you will have to be brief and to the point.  Also please be sure to include your name, address and a telephone number where you can be reached during the day.
